Your Role as an Account Manager:

The Account Manager is the primary owner of the relationship with clients in their assigned territory. While working with internal teams, the Account Manager will be responsible for understanding the ongoing needs of our clients, their usage of the system and for presenting solutions that we offer to aid in their fundraising efforts. A successful Account Manager will be able to expand the revenue of their territory and maintain a high renewal rate. They will be responsive to marketing-generated leads, incoming requests and will engage in proactive outreach based on a variety of inputs including client usage and contract expiration.

Technology enables our Account Managers to sell and demo our software to clients so there is very little travel.

SofterWare has advanced selling tools, including SalesForce.com and Gong.io to help you manage and refine your sales process and prospects

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage opportunities in an assigned customer territory throughout the sales process
  • Effectively evaluate prospect needs to recommend appropriate software solutions
  • Demonstrate software solutions and products
  • Update, maintain and manage prospect records in Salesforce
  • Prepare quotes and proposals for prospects using Salesforce
  • Provide timely, proactive follow-up on all prospect opportunities
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue growth goals
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of our products as well as the offerings of our competitors

Key Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, presentation, and telephone skills
  • Ability to learn new software products quickly
  • Practical, relevant experience in computer software and technology including Microsoft Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, and web presentation applications (WebEx, Zoom, or GoToMeeting)
  • A strong work ethic, a high level of confidence, self-driven motivation and excellent follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of DonorPerfect (or similar) products & services and/or the nonprofit marketplace a plus

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience
  • Previous successful consultative sales experience with proven closing abilities

Travel Requirements: 

Occasional (5% or less) travel to trade shows and conferences.  May include air travel and overnight stays.
