Your Role as a Data Transfer Specialist :



As a Data Transfer Specialist, you will be responsible for providing SofterWare's Implementation Department with automated processes based in SQL, that will allow team members to migrate existing data from multiple sources effectively and efficiently. The process entails both technical aspects of working with data files, as well as frequent interaction with SofterWare’s newer clients typically via telephone and email, and collaborating with members of the data services team. Frequent support, training, and maintenance will be expected to internal staff in addition to the development of automation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer the full data transfer cycle with onboarding clients, through data review, mapping, and beta and final programming through SQL Management Studio.
  • Work with clients to identify and define their data conversion needs through data mapping 
  • Document all pertinent information about conversion, mapping and overall notes within Salesforce CRM
  • Assist clients with providing data for review and conversion
  • Work closely with Onboarding Coordinator to provide technical support during Onboarding process
  • Assist clients with data extraction from previous provider
  • Assist Sales Team as needed with Lead/Prospect cultivation
  • Provide clients with data enhancement services offered by SofterWare
  • Assist the Data Services Manager in all department tasks, as needed

Key Requirements:
  • Strong familiarity with executing queries, functions, stored procedures and general data manipulation within MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge of general database design and usage (especially relational databases), and all other Microsoft Office products 
  • Strong project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to actively listen, build trust, and adapt communication styles and tactics to fit the client or colleague
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships with an orientation toward exceptional customer service
  • Encourages team unity through sharing information or expertise and collaborates well with colleagues
  • Proficiency with some standard software applications (Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, etc).
  • Superior organizational skills and a strong attention to detail is critical to this role.
  • Ability to take ownership and resolve difficult or complicated challenges. 
  • Prioritizes tasks by importance and deadline. Discerns what is crucial from what is just urgent. Adjusts priorities as situations change.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Information Science related field or 3 years of work experience in database related position
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous Customer Service experience preferred
  • Experience working with relational databases preferred
  • Familiarity with the needs and challenges of non-profit organizations preferred
